On Sunday October 28, 2018 a ninth child was reported dead in New Jersey at a nursing home from at least 8 viruses that cause respiratory illnesses, according to the state health department. The virus is known to rarely infect healthy people, but instead cling on to unclean medical instruments that most disinfectants can't usually get out. With people that have weaker immune systems will have a higher risk for severe disease along with staying infected for a longer period of time before recovering. They are also known to occur in large groups of children like at a day-care center or a school. At one point they were told that they couldn't admit any new patients until the outbreak of the virus ended. One of the facilities had founded a minor hand-washing deficiencies. The ages of the individual children weren't announced but the age had ranged from toddlers to young adults, under the age of 18. One reason as to why the virus had started was because of the shortage of nursing staff and supplies.
