Summary: On October 27th, 2018, a harshly anti-Semitic man by the name of Robert Bowers ran into the Tree Of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh, PA with 3 Glock 57 handguns and an AR-15 assault rifle and killed 11 people. He also injured police officers as they attempted to restrain him, and he eventually surrendered to the authorities because he was suffering from gun shot wounds. Currently, Bowers awaits his recovery with the blessing of having 29 criminal charges hanging over his head for committing a heinous crime. Before the shooting occurred, Bowers had been posting severely anti-Semitic comments on the social network known as Gab, and after hearing about the crime Gab immediately dismissed any tolerance for his actions by releasing a statement saying, "Gab unequivocally disavows and condemns all acts of terrorism and violence." Reports have been made that the US police force is placing more policeman outside of holy Jewish places and synagogues around the country as a result of this evil crime.
Analysis: How have we gotten to the point that a shooting, something that results in the painful deaths of innocent people, and acts of terrorism are a monthly, if not weekly occurrence in America? One thing I noticed that I cringed at the moment I read it on the BBC article: Bowers had an AR-15 assault rifle, and the AR-15 and its type rifles can now proudly put 11 new hate crime and terrorism victims under its belt, joining the 17 children that were killed in Parkland, Florida earlier this year, and some of the victims of the 2017 Las Vegas shooting. This is something that I'm sad and angered to see in the news again, and I think it's time that we stop sending thoughts and prayers again, and do something again, because the first time didn't work. Maybe it might a good idea to listen to the "silly leftist teen activists that don't know what they're doing". Before I read this article, I saw on someone's story to pray for Pittsburgh, but I didn't hear anything else about it. This article was written by the staff at BBC (the names weren't listed), and this article was written to spread awareness to the general public that yes, shootings are still happening and nothing has changed regarding that, and as an indirect warning to the Jewish community to keep their guard up a little. This can be related to Charleston church shooting back in 2015, because innocent people were shot and killed in a holy place, and it happened again.
We really need gun control, because more people are using guns to kill than to protect. Kadar Price
