China has just legalized the trade of tiger bones and rhino horns. The predominant reasons being sited were medical ones given ancient traditions. This has worried many anti poaching and animal rights activists, believing it will cause a spike in poaching and the trade of animal parts.
I'm not exactly certain how to feel about this. On the one hand, being an animal lover I'm never going to support poaching or killing animals for such little things like their horns or bones. On the other hand, I could see a potential benefit to decriminalizing the selling or buying of these parts. It could bring the value down and maybe even limit the animals getting killed. This reminds me of the prohibition act, good in theory but not necessarily in practice.
I found the two different sides of this argument to be extremely interesting. Good job!!!!!
