Summary: Recently, the Vice President of Government Affairs at Campbell Soup made a tweet claiming that the foundation that George Soros runs helped smuggle immigrants into the United States. He is no longer with the company. Campbell Soup made it very clear in statements that the views expressed were only that of the VP and not of the company.
Analysis: This is an interesting issue to talk about as we find the divide between personal and business. I think personal views shouldn’t affect employment until it comes to something like this. Once it gets offensive or outrightly false or harmful, that’s when your personal views will reflect bad upon your company which should reflect upon your employment. This reminds me of separation of church and state and how that affects politics. While your personal religion is not supposed to affect your politics, many politicians campaign with their religious affiliation outright to get more voters.
