Maria Golici - guard shoots an intruder

A security guard for Fox 5 in northwest Washington D.C. shot an intruder. The intruder, a 38 year old man did indeed survive. He is currently getting treated at a hospital and he appears to be stable, conscious, and responsive. Security videotapes show that the man kicked through both interior and exterior doors which can only be entered in by a swipe card. He was shot once around 3 PM in the lobby. Washington Metropolitan police second district commander Melvin Gresham said that the intruder was unarmed and motives for breaking in are unclear.

This article was written October 22, 2018, and was last edited at 5:30 PM. A situation like this happened not to long ago in Westend, Dallas where a man drove his truck into Fox 4 news and a bag was left behind. The bag was thought to have contained a bomb but nothing harmful was discovered.
When he was arrested it appeared that he was rambling and saying words with connection with the other. Similarly, both situations are very confusing as both have no motivation as to why it was done. Hopefully they will find a motive as of why the intruder broke in Fox 5. Until then all police can do is solidify facts and connect dots that will hopefully lead to a motive.

  1. It's bizarre to see such strange cases obviously linked and yet so random. While I'm glad the man who was shot will make a recovery, I can only wonder what he was doing there and if further investigation will be done.

  2. The recovery of this 38 year old man is astounding but still causes confusion as to his motives. What charges will he be brought up on if any?
