Mother testifies about her child's murder - Victoria Bruno

Summary:
Rayne Perrywinkle, mother of the now deceased daughter- Cherish Perrywinkle, testified in a Jacksonville courtroom about the day her 8-year-old child went missing. Cherish was found near a creek and was found to have been raped and had been bashed in the back of her head. Smith, the murderer, was charged kidnapping, rape, and first-degree murder. He also has a chance of being put on a death sentence.

My thoughts:
Smith took away an innocent child's life away and for that reason, I would fully support the death sentence. Not only has he committed such a heinous crime, but he was also found to have been a "violent sexual predator" in the past.

Relation to the past:
There are many murderers that target mostly children. Primary reason is probably that they are more vulnerable than an adult. People like Nathaniel Bar-Jonah, Ian Brady, Marc Dutroux, targeted children and were caught.

  1. I can't believe that they let him out of prison after being convicted of being a violent sexual predator before this. Its just awful.

  2. I think it was dumb to even let him out of jail in the first place. If you know someone is a violent sexual predator, you don't just exactly let the go. It pains me to hear the victim was so young as well. It's awful no matter the age though.
