In Capetown, South Africa, there is a water crisis. The water sources have mostly dried up and left the city on water rations. Due to reducing agricultural production, day zero was pushed back to May 11. The city is waiting for the yearly monsoons which will hopefully fill the the water supply. However, due to climate change, the monsoons have been lessening its impact throughout the past years, reducing hope for the future.
Hopefully, even if the monsoons come at "full speed", Capetown will practice water conservation more than they used to. We, as a society, can learn from Capetown, and start conserving not only water, but all harmful goods. I'm not saying we should go all no-waste lifestyle, but we should start implementing those practices more often in our daily lives.
I hope the monsoons come for Capetown. They cannot live on water rations for too long.
