Saturday night, President Trump told national governors the mass shooting of early February will be the first of many subjects discussed during the next white house meeting. Trump also praised Florida's republican governor Rick Scott during said statement. Trump said they will discuss gun violence and finalize an expected legislative proposal.
Some of his ideas since the shooting include: raising minimum age for purchasing a gun, a background check before purchase, and arming educators. he also wants to reopen mental institutions. The national Rifle association favors arming teachers. This reminds me of the ratification of the 18th amendment to the constitution in 1919. The 18th amendment banned the sale and drinking of alcohol. Which was later repealed by the 21th amendment in 1933.
