Enrique Pena, the President of Mexico, was scheduled to have a visit and meeting with President Donald Trump at the White House on February 20, 2018. However, an unexpected turn took place for the meeting when a phone call alerted the the White House that President Pena would not attend the White House meeting unless President Trump publicly announced that the wall would not and could not be payed for by the Mexican government. Trump, of course, denied and disrespected our allies even further by saying he would say no such thing to the American people. Trump may not like Mexico but if he's as good of a businessman as he claims he is, he should understand by now that people in business and in government must learn to work with those they dislike for the greater good. Mexico is a vital ally and it would be a dangerous and reckless mistake to offend them to the point of terminating any good relations we have with them. Trump must also realize that countries will not handle, ignore or tolerate his constant slander against them and their policies-directly insulting them and then insisting to have a peaceful, cooperative meeting is as delusional and unrealistic as some of his policies-but then again, that only seems fitting considering his presidency thus far.
