Florida deputy Scot Peterson, who received backlash for not entering Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School during the school's mass shooting , resigned after word got out. His lawyer has released a statement on Monday claiming he acted appropriately and was not a "coward". President Trump also criticized his as a coward .
Peterson's Original job was to guard the school on the day of the shooting. His lawyer also released that Peterson did not go in the building because he thought the shooting was going on out side. I really don't believe that he thought the shooting was going on outside due to the fact that he was near the building at the time.
