Trump Administration’s request to drill for oil rejected- Isabella Firsching

• The California State Lands Commission warm the TA that it will be fighting the construction of offshore oil and gas drilling and transportation. “The catastrophic harm from an offshore oil spill is well-established”, quoted from a letter to the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management from the CSLC. It is widely believed, by both the public and government officials that the pipeline plan with most definitely not go into effect. Offshore drilling in California has not been used since 1969, and probably won’t anytime soon.
• This threat of more oil pipelines is very present in the current media, Trump wants to shy away from clean energy and jump back decades to when oil and coal were the primary sources of fuel. Thus polluting the air and apparently soon, the ocean. I am really hoping that there will be no drilling, anywhere, much less in the ocean. There is already so much harm to ocean animals from mass amounts of trash and chemicals being dumped.
