“Neither Fergie nor her team thought anything was wrong with her national anthem rendition,” a source told the outlet. “That’s the way she sings a lot of her songs. She loves adding a little sexiness and being different with her riffs. It was meant to be jazz-inspired. She wanted to stand out.”
Singer Fergie has opened up about her national anthem performance at the NBA All Stars game that caused many watching to laugh, and social media critics to mock the extremely unusual rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner.”
Many people were not on board with Fergie’s "jazz" rendition of the national anthem. Spectators reacted to the interesting performance during halftime, and the fact that many of the players appeared to be giggling at Fergie while she was still in the middle of her "performance", which lasted two and a half minutes but felt much longer. Even Roseanne Barr, who gave her own infamous performance of the national anthem in 1990, called out Fergie’s less than perfect attempt at the National Anthem.
the performance was very funny. i felt bad for her though
ReplyDeleteI feel bad that Fergie is receiving so much flack for her performance. While I was not personally a fan, I didn't think it deserved the criticism that it received.
