Republicans Show Little Urgency on Legislation to Protect Mueller

Recently, it was revealed that, in June, Donald Trump attempted to fire Robert Mueller, the man investigating him for possible treasonous acts. Since this report, Democrats have rushed to pass legislation to protect Mueller from any further attempts, but most Republicans agree that there is no need at the time to protect him.

Moderate republican senator Susan Collins said that it “probably wouldn’t hurt” for Congress to pass legislation, but added that she had faith in Deputy Attorney General Rod J. Rosenstein, to protect Mueller. However, with a new Republican memo coming to light saying that the same Mr. Rosenstein could be there next target, Mueller's safety is still in question.

  1. There has definitely been some shifty business of the government and very little has been done to try and cover it. None of it is covert at ALL which is what is simultaneously shocking but very on brand for the US government.
