1/28/18 Ashton Benn, Pennsylvania shooting

An ordinary event such as washing your car at a car wash can turn into a deadly affair. Four people were killed and two were wounded as Timothy O'Brian Smith committed an unspeakable act. The shooter had come prepared with ammo and had cased the area, but no one can discern his motive. Was he deranged? Angry? This intense scene has caused so much pain in the small town and it drives the ever present question, what is going to be done about the shootings? This year has been filled with tragedy and despair and it is only January. It is time to create change and action. If we continue to allow destruction in and around us then there will be no healing of the mental wounds. Bloodshed won't cease unless a definite act is in place. It doesn't even have to be gun laws, but just some sort of restriction would still help the law.

Throughout history we have seen more and more shootings as the years go on. It should be the opposite, we should be reducing these terrible events so that our country is not riddled with so much hurt and harm. In reality, I think it goes back to the mass production of gun parts that Eli Whitney invented in the market revolution. From then on, guns have had interchangeable parts and have gotten easier to find and take into posession.
