Taro Kono, Japan's foreign minister, urged China to maintain pressure on North Korea to curb their nuclear weapons program. He claimed that the two countries both hold a major responsibility in safeguarding the stability and prosperity of Asia, along with the whole world. China and Japan also agreed to resume reciprocal visits by their leaders, showing that they want to strengthen ties. The Chinese foreign minister, Wang Yi, stated that the two countries need to come together and overcome obstacles if they want to make any progress on improving their relations.
I think that it's good that they're taking steps to try to better their relations while also taking North Korea seriously, instead of just making idiotic insults at them (unlike someone who unfortunately runs our country *cough cough*). It's always important to try to overcome differences with people instead of just pointing fingers and fighting right away.
