Jeson Aviles - No More Library Fines For Young Readers in LA County
In a country where the economy is the prime care to the executive branch, the Los Angeles County has established an opportunity for families and individuals to pay off debts and fines to their libraries without the usage of currency. Kids can visit their local library where they hold a pre-existing late fee balance and literally read away their debt. By notifying the librarian that they would like to pay off their balance, they will begin a timer, marking the passage of time the child reads. Every hour spent is the equivalent to $5.
