The chairman, vice-chairman and treasurer of USA Gymnastics resigned under pressure from the U.S. Olympic committee on Monday in the latest fallout from the Larry Nassar scandal. Nassar is the former women's team doctor for USA Gymnastics and Michigan State University who has pleaded guilty to abusing young patients.
More of his victims spoke at his sentencing hearing on Monday. MSYU has stated that at least 12 assaults by Nassau were reported.
This is so heartbreaking that so many of these young girls have gone through sexual assault. Young women and just women in general should not be preyed on by older/creepy men, and it is so disappointing that Nassau abused his position of authority like that.
Sexual assault has been a major part of this year and its not easy for people to be honest if they're a victim. What punishments do you think should Nassau face since he's preyed on these innocent young ladies.

ReplyDeletethis makes me less excited for the olympics because it has provoked such a terrible thing.
I am glad that so many people are coming forward and standing up against the issue of sexual assault, I just wish we could have prevented this. I hope that these women are able to overcome this, and that Nassar is punished.
ReplyDeleteThis times up movement is truly amazing and im glad women feel like they have a voice to stand up for themselves.
