Measles outbreak in Disneyland
An outbreak that had started in Disneyland has spread to about 59 individuals in California and more in Oregon, Washington, Utah, Colorado, and Mexico. The US was declared measles free in the year 2000 due to the mass vaccination to a point where unvaccinated children had benefited from the mass immunity. however now, children are at risk of gaining measles which is highly contagious and can spread through the air. people who have gotten the two dose vaccine though are actually guaranteed about a 99% protection. however this leaves many young children and infants at risk.
This article is a little concerning considering how long ago measles were even relevant in the US. It is also concerning how such a highly contagious outbreak started in such a heavy tourist attraction such as Disneyland. But I mean if you got vaccine I'm pretty sure you should be fine.
