David Allen Norton- Religious Freedom At Stake?

Summary: An Indiana Governor recently signed a Religious Freedom Restoration Act, causing an immediate backlash and boycott, since many people believed it could be used to discriminate against people in  the LGBTQ community.

Analysis/Synthesis: I personally think that it wasn't a smart move to sign the Act due to the amount of re-percussive effects it would bring and also because I've been a huge supporter of the LGBTQ community ever since I could remember. This obviously ties right in with the early settlers and their search for religious freedom. They left due to persecution even within the colonies so this current event easily makes sense to connect to the struggles of the colonies and religious freedom.
