Women banned from a Saudi Starbucks, Darby McMahon Pd#9

A Starbucks in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, now has a sign that says "Please no entrance for ladies". This sign was put up after a wall segregating families and single people fell down. The temporary solution has been to ban all women from entering. The full sign reads, "Please no entry for ladies only send your driver to order thank you." The starbucks claims that they are adhering to the local customs of Saudi Arabia by providing seperate entrances.

This sounds absolutely ridiculous to anyone else, but it happens to be a legitimate rule in Saudi Arabia. This article was written by Henry Hanks, CNN, and shines light on this incredibly unfair situation. This would never happen in the U.S. but may not be too surprising in Saudi Arabia due to their apparent sexist laws, including the fact that women did not get the right to vote until 2015. It is very important for the unjust laws of Saudi Arabia to be brought to light and changed.
