Recovering From E. Coli Tymie Jadagu 6th P.

Summary: After Chipotle, a formerly well known and loved food chain had an e. coli scare earlier this Summer, they have now decided to shut down all chain for four hours so that there can be a large meeting over new safety protocols. They plan on doing a number of things differently, including cutting/chopping, marinating, and and blanching veggies. Over 500 people have gotten sick, and many have sued. The Us Justice department is investigating them for criminal activity. Hopefully this will be enough to bring Chipotles sales back up.
Analysis : This definitely relates back to the progressive era, and how the food and drug act were implemented. It is definitely due to the era of progressives, and muckrakers who wrote stories like the jungle which talks about meat packaging, to make sure our food is safe to eat. It is almost a direct connection, and it will be interesting to see if the federal justice department finds Chipotle at fault for anything. It is also scary to think, that a restuaraunt most people know and love was infected and that there very well could've been an outbreak in Dallas as well.

  1. Chipotle is a well loved chain. Their promotions have always struck a nerve in the way they present their roots of agriculture.
