Obama supporters support Trump by Mattie Whisler 9th period Flex

Surprisingly some voters who elected President Barack Obama are supporting Donald Trump. This is slightly unexpected because these two are very different. President Obama's campaign was centered around hope and change of the nation, Trump declared in June that the American Dream was dead. Obama tried to get rid of racial diversion while Trump is trying to build a wall to keep out Mexican immigrants. The thing about Trump's campaign that attracts former Obama supporters is the promise of change. Except that the change Trump is promising is build out of power and strength, not compromise and peace.

I think that it's silly for Trump to say that the American Dream is "dead". The American Dream will never truly die. We as a country are always improving and coming up with new ways to make the country better.

  1. I think that Trump wants to make a headline and nothing more. He has no chance at the presidency. Hopefully, he will lose momentum sooner rather than later.

  2. I think people should focus on what Trump actually says he will do as president then they will see that Trump will change this country, but in a very bad way. His ideas are insane and target various racial and religious groups and they would not help to change America for the better. -Claudia Anthony
