"35 years after Mount St. Helens eruption, nature returns" Xavier S. Rabon 9th period Flex
Mount St. Helens, erupted 35 years ago, covering the entire surrounding forest floor with 200ft of fallen ash. Because of this, not only did most of the wild life die, But popular tourist destination "Spirit Lake" practically vanished, from the landscape. But almost as soon at it disappeared, new plants and bugs, and have come back to the forest giving the soil much needed nutrients. Because of this, a new lake is forming, where the old one lays.
Because of the new forming lake, much more Tourism will come by to see not only the lake, but the new life that's been growing there. This will help bring allot of brand new revenue, to Washington. This will also help, bring back the forest quicker, with help of funds. As a side not, I also hope, that this makes people appreciate nature more, and learn not to cut them down.
