U.N. Implicates Syria in Using Chemical Weapons - Victor Ragsdale (4th Period)

CRISIS IN SYRIA

U.N. Implicates Syria in Using Chemical Weapons

The United Nations completed a 41-page report of Syria's chemical weapons, confirming that the government had chemical weapons (sarin) and used them on their people. But was most shocking was the fact the nation had used it a temperature that was so low, that there was the possibility of if falling into the underground shelters many of the people were hiding in. This is just the first step of many in resolving Syria's chemical weapons issues.

Isn't it shocking that our U.S. Congress is spending time deliberating whether or not the United States should have military strike in the nation when we hadn't even confirmed the chemical weapons existence? Is it too much to ask for us to have all the proper information before making decisions that have the possibility of affecting a whole nation or more? Is it too much to ask to outlaw the usage of chemical weapons on an international scale? Tell me what you think in the comments...

  1. I think that even if the world as a whole came to one conclusion and decided to ban the usage of chemical weapons, it still wouldn't keep most countries from using them. I do agree with you that having the proper information should be seen before jumping into conclusions and starting a war.
