Julian Randall - 5th Period

SUMMARY: Saturday, September 14, 2013, three teenagers and one mom was found dead. Found dead on the roads of Cumberland Plateau in Tennessee. The four victims consisted of three male teens, and one mother of a child who attends a elementary school within the system. Dominic Davis, one of the victims, was actually new to Tennessee, he had just moved there from Colorado. According to "CNN," Davis was a very well-respected young man who had a passion for the arts and music. He attended Cumberland County High School. Steven Presley, was a previous student of The Phoenix School, where his personality was perceived as happy, friendly, and lively. And although he was singled out quite often, different from the other students, he managed to be an inspirational force throughout campus, encouraging and making students lives better each and every day. John Lajeunesse, in contrast, was always on the go. He was an attendee of the Cumberland County High School, where his interests were quite typical for that of a normal kid in Tennessee. John was very family oriented, primarily focusing on his sister, mother, and baby niece. He was also pretty fun to be around. The last, and only female, among all of the victims was Rikki Jacobsen. Although the district released very little information on Rikki, According to the district, she was very innocent, kind, and helping. All of victims being relatively young, between the ages of sixteen and twenty two, its quite unfortunate that with their whole lives ahead of them, they had to endure such a tragedy. Additional information on certain aspects of the actual shooting, why, where, and how it happened, has yet to be revealed.

ANALYSIS: This article was published September 14, 2013, at 1:14pm. It was written by both Greg Botelho and Mariano Castillo, with CNN. I'm still very curious why someone who do such a thing, and will still be following the story to get all of the details on the matter. Unfortunately, these innocent teens will not be able live the lives they deserved, and I hope justice will be served. I believe the article is important because not only the citizens of Tennessee, more specifically, the school districts know what happened so that they can keep the families of those who were shot, in prayer. Its important, because it has to deal with the people of tomorrows future in our country , and with that being said, hopefully it comes to a halt. But without incidents such as this, being acknowledged, nothing will be accomplished. The idea as to why people do such things still ponders upon us.
