Summary - This article explains the importance of the fact that France has become virtually the sole ally of the United States that is a country from Europe. This would not be such a surprising matter if it weren't for the fact that a decade earlier France had a completely different point of view. On Valentine's Day in 2003,  the French Foreign Minister said that "taking part in the Iraq War without a U.N. endorsement was not an option for France."
