Skeleton found after 57 years.
A skeleton was found under a basement 57 years after a man who used to live there went missing. Police say the George Carroll son and his grandchildren found the remains of him while cleaning out the basement. Carroll has been missing since 1961 which was 6 years after they bought the home. Michael Carroll told the News that there had always been rumors that his father was buried under the basement. Michael said it became to dangerous with the recent excavation and it had to be stopped but was resumed later with better technology. The remains were found 6 to 8 feet under the ground and Michael said that he wasn't surprised when he found it and deep down he always believed he was down there. Authorities don't know if its actually George Carroll and if it is that he may know who was involved. Police say that their not really sure if he was actually reported missing and we will never really know because the mother is dead.
Analysis
This story reminds me of the case where a 19 year old girl Beatrice Weston was locked in a basement for 10 years where they found open-wounds,burns, scars, and broken bones. But with this case we know what happened but with this one no one knows. Cases like this make you wonder why people would do such a thing. Hopefully authorities are able to figure who did this and why.
I would be terrified if I found my family members skeleton under the house, I feel sorry for the family and the skeletons.
