Save Us, Texas
by Michelle Goldberg
Summary: Beto O'Rourke is up to run as senator of Texas. If he were to be voted, Beto would put Texas in the blue. On Saturday night Beto had rallied up more than 50 thousand people to see Willie Nelson rile people up for O'Rourke's candidacy. After he was interviewed on stage, people recalled Beto having the same strong presence of Obama. Beto is a candidate for the people, he has focused most of his candidacy looking out for everyone but most importantly, the young and people of color. He realizes that children are the future and he may be the new hope texas is looking for.
Analysis: after doing a little of research on O'Rourke i learned on how i'm more leaning towards Beto. He reminds a lot of Jonathan Edwards, he was a leader during the great awakening that inspired and gave people a better hope for the colonies. In a way that's what Beto is doing, with him being elected Texas would become a democratic state and that's really what we need right now in my opinion.
