As of today, Trump announced the new trade deal between U.S., Canada and Mexico, called the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA). This is being highlighted as Trump's biggest trade accomplishment since his inauguration. This deal does raise several questions, though. Trump and his administration still have to deal with the implications of the U.S.'s rocky relationship with Canada and Mexico, so there's still a bit of doubt on how they will bring this deal to work efficiently. Also, for those who will be affected the most from USMCA (automobile manufacturers) fear the wages on different parts, since multiple parts can be made by different companies with different prices put onto them, making the process of bringing more automobile infrastructures into the U.S. harder.
This new trade agreement is in relation to NAFTA, a similar trade deal of USMCA, but just wasn't in Trump's favor. He has repeatedly downgraded NAFTA and expressed his disliking of it. I think this new trade deal will be important in the future because we still do not know if it will actually work in an efficient manner. It also raises questions as to who will really benefit from this deal and how it could affect workers from Canada and Mexico.
