How Concerned Are You About Climate Change?-Nathan Navejas

How Concerned Are You About Climate Change?

Do you ever think about how the conditions on the planet may change in your lifetime? Have you ever chosen to do or not to do something because of the environmental effects of that action?
In a "Major Climate Report Describes a Strong Risk of Crisis as Early as 2040," Coral Davenport writes: A landmark report from the United Nations' specific panel on climate change paints a far more dire picture of the immediate consequences of climate change than previously thought and says that avoiding the damage requires transforming the world economy at a speed and scale that has "no documented historic precedent." The report, issued by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, a group of scientists convened by the United Nations, describes the worsening food shortages and wildfires; plus a mass die-off of coral reefs as soon as 2040.
Other students read this articles and commented on the New York Times such as: "The article says it's 'politically unlikely' that the world economy will be changed to address the environmental consequences outlined in the report. Do you agree? Explain."

  1. Global warming has been something scientist have been warning against since the 1980s. Now, scientist say that we will hit the "point of no return" in 2050. Climate Change is a serious issue, and if you don't believe it, look at the numbers. Now, the president is pulling further and further away environmental control. In our lifetime, the planet could be unrecognizable. It's time to do something about it.

  2. I like that you chose to write about something as interesting as this. I actually just thought about this the other day so that makes it even better. I like you're analysis and how you related it to history as well. good job.

  4. Chloe Meinershagen - This topic is very popular these days, and although it's a huge thought, I feel as though no one is making any action on changing life style until something hurts us, which includes myself.

  5. I am very scared for the future health of our planet. We are slowly killing it and politicians who have the most influential say in the way our country works are choosing to say it doesn't exist?!?!? LIKE HUH, what else do you need to see when the slow withering of the world isn't already enough proof!
