Super Bowl star Malcolm Jenkins says White House visit is 'not worth my time'
After an impressive win at the super bowl, the Eagles’ player Malcolm Jenkins declines an opportunity to meet the president. He says it is not worth his time- that he has other more productive things he could be doing instead of having a photo op with a president he isn’t fond of. He made it clear that if he had the opportunity to actually talk to the president about more pressing political matters, he wouldn’t miss it for the world.
I really respect what he did. I may not have worded everything similarly, but the same idea. I think it is important to respect whatever president is in office regardless of if like them or not, but I also believe we need to ignore societal obligations and do what we think is right. The nation will only become more divided if we start to argue over whos in office when we have no control.
