Natalie Wood's death still a mystery - Amy Mills

Natalie Wood(an actress known for "Rebel Without a Cause," "West Side Story," "Miracle on 34th Street," and more)'s mysterious drowning case has resurfaced. Authorities say that Robert Wagner(Wood's husband)'s story "doesn't add up." Natalie Wood died on November 29, 1981, at age 43. She went on a yacht trip with Robert Wagner and Christopher Walken. Wagner wrote that during their trip, he became jealous and argued with both of them. Later, he couldn't find Wood, yet found that the dinghy(usually used for a lifeboat) missing. He figured that his wife went ashore. The dinghy was found about a mile from the yacht and about a mile from where Wood's body was found. Her death was classified as "accidental drowning," but her bruises seemed otherwise. The case was then classified as "drowning and other undetermined factors." New witnesses have come up and helped to create a "more articulate timeline" to Wood's death. "More than 100 people came forward... We ended up identifying witnesses that had never come forward in telling their story to recreate some of the timeline on what happened that weekend," said John Corina, Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Lieutenant. Corina also said that while Wagner still remains a person of interest, officials are not pressing charges and the case still remains a suspicious death, not a murder. "We tried to talk to [Wagner], so far he doesn't want to talk to us. We're still trying to figure out what happened." Corina said that the police have contacted Wagner two or three times and he has declined to speak to them.
