Summary:
Alabama wants to pass a bill that could ban the smoking of tobacco, in a vehicle, with a minor present. If this becomes a law, anyone caught smoking in a car with a person who is under the age of 19, will be fined $100. The law also includes how it doesn't matter whether the vehicle is parked, or moving, it is illegal period. Rep. Rolanda Hollis states, "We aren't saying you can't smoke, and we aren't saying what to do with your body, we just want to look out more the kids."
Analysis:
I think that if Alabama implements this law, it will create a long-term, positive effect on the community. Any young child, shouldn't be exposed to an unhealthy environment because it can damage their lungs and potentially cause them cancer. Since this law is for the safety of the children, I believe they should pass it.

I absolutely agree with you. Children shouldn't be exposed to drugs because it will influence them to do drugs at on older age because their parents did it so why not do it as well. I believe this law would be useful but you have to think about what will happen when their at home.? You can't really keep kids away from drugs unless you abolish drugs altogether.
ReplyDeleteI think that this is a good idea and I hope it spreads to other states because children aren't the ones making the choice, but the are forced into the smoking environment anyway.

I agree, I hope this law is implemented to show the seriousness of this topic. No child should be put in an unhealthy environment.
ReplyDeleteI think this is really cool because 2nd hand smoking is a huge cause of lung cancer.
ReplyDeleteThere's a certain time period where the U.S. government was extremely concerned with children's health? Can you connect this to that time period?
