Katelyn Thompson- 3 jail officials charged in death of inmate whose water was turned off

https://www.cnn.com/2018/02/12/us/milwaukee-inmate-dehydration-death-charges/index.html

earlier today, 3 correctional officers were charged with of an inmate because the water was turned off in his cell. Studies show that the maximum a person can survive without water is 7 days. Terrill Thomas did not receive water for 7 days. His water was shut off as punishment after Thomas flooded other cells. Lt. Meaders, who is facing a felony charge, said that he only thought that the toilet water would be shut off. The decision to cut thomas's water off had not been logged therefore no when except a handful of people knew.
this article is evident to show that prison system is not well organized and needs better structure so that these incidents wont happen again . The 3 officials even went as far as covering the footage of Thomas in his cell so that it would not be known of what happened.
This can be related back to when the war on drugs was at its peak and many were thrown in jail during their worst conditions.

  1. America's prison system is in need of a complete overhaul. It's disgusting how unequal the power balance is, and how horribly prisoners are often treated.
