The White House has reserved plans to elliminate a federally-funded program dedicated to supporting low income students parents on college campuses. Nearly 5 million college students, about a quarter of the current campus population, have kids. Adding to the cost and demands of childcare plus the already steep prices of college tuition makes pursuing a degree even more challenging, many of whom are single moms. About $15.1 million go into programs to help student parents and Trump doesn’t just plan on decreasing the budget he plans on slashing these programs as a whole saying they “ are outside the Department’s core mission, or have not shown evidence of effectiveness.”
What does he mean they are “outside the departments core mission?” Is it not the White House and President’s mission to help its citizens prosper and get good educations. To make sure that young adults paying for college and taking on student loans at least have efficient means to take care of their growing children. Just last summer President Trump and his wife were in an interview stating their support to help young parents. Thank you for your empty words.

Where does he even plan to use the money from this program?
ReplyDeleteLondon Hibbs- very sad to think that people will not have sccsss to college because of their financial standings. I hope families don't get separated over this issue.
