Summary: The USS Navy has deployed the USS Carney to the Black Sea. The USS Carney will join the USS Ross in patrolling the Black Sea. This is due to the increased influence of the Russian military in the Crimea. This is also due to the two incidents in the past six months. In November, a Russian fighter jet flew close by a US carrier. Last month, a Russian fighter jet flew very close by a US fighter jet. Officials say that this is due to the "sensitivity" of the Russians. If you put two ships in the Black Sea, they get sensitive.

Analysis: I'm not sure what exactly both sides are trying to do. It's kind of like they're trying to threaten each other like the Cold War just without ICBM's. I'm neutral in what I think of this military standoff. This relates to US history because it is reminiscent of the military standoffs during the Cold War.
