After the tragic Florida school shooting President Trump took to Twitter to, rather than offer a thoughtful comment to the victims of the shooting or open a discussion about how this tragedy could’ve been prevented had Cruz not had such easy access to a weapon, Trump essentially blamed the victims. Tweeting “so many signs that the Florida shooter was mentally disturbed, even expelled from school for bad and erratic behavior. Neighbors and classmates knew he was a big problem. Must always report such incidents to authorities, again and again!” Trump said he would be meeting with state law-enforcement and attorney generals to discuss how to make school say first however he offered no ideas on how this would be done.
I don’t know if Trump is insensitive or just dumb, maybe both. To tweet that Neighbors and classmates should have reported Cruz to authorities as if that would have prevented this school shootings is out of line. How could anyone discern that Cruz would one day decide to pick up a gun and shoot his fellow classmates. These people have just come out of a traumatic experience and for Trump to take to Twitter and basically blame these people for the shooting is completely incomprehensible to me.
He's dismissive as ever.
