Nancy Escobedo PD:2nd SouthWest Airlines inciddent

Summary:
On Tuesday evening a video was posted of a woman being dragged off a South West Airlines. Before the video starts witnesses and police state that the woman had a serious pet allergy and was requesting for the animals to be removed. The workers could not do that based on air plane policy.“Our policy states that a customer (without a medical certificate) may be denied boarding if they report a life-threatening allergic reaction and cannot travel safely with an animal on board." So the woman stated if she could get an injection. However, She didn't have any certificate for the air line to administer the injection. The air line workers then told her that they couldn't give anything she was asking, so she was ask to leave the plane. She refused and the police officers came inside the air plane, that's when the video began. In the video you can see her explaining to the officers that she had an allergy, her dad is going to have surgery, and that she was a professor. After she was off the air plane she was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, failure to obey a reasonable and lawful order, disturbing the peace, obstructing and hindering a police officer, and resisting arrest.



Analysis:
In my opinion, I believe that the Airlines did the correct thing .If they had given her the injection, and she didn't have an allergy the Airlines could have gotten in bigger,legal problems. Also a part of me believes that the woman might have wanted some attention since there was a similar incident with the United Airlines. On the other hand, I feel that the officers had too much force on handling the lady off the air plane. In the video you can see that there was some instances in which the officers wouldn't let her walk.
