Puerto Rico has reportedly recieved cases as many as at least 76 cases of suspected and confirmed leptospirosis. Which has also included a handful of deaths. Just a month after Hurricane Maria, much of the water in Puerto Rico has been found to be contaminated with deadly bacteria.
Jorge Antonio Sanyet has been a witness to the fatal bacteria. His father died two weeks after the hurricane, and Sanyet says that he suspects it was the contaminated water his father was drinking. He also says while his father was alive he was experiencing headaches but the doctors diagnosed him with the flu and sent him home but it only got worse from there. Dr. Carmen Deseda, the state epidemiologist for Puerto Rico, is diagnosing this epidemic as leptospirosis.

This is so saddening. Supplying Puerto Rico with contaminated water was a stupid idea in the first place, why would they follow through with that?
