Vegas Shooting

On Sunday evening, a fatal shooting in Las Vegas took place. The suspect opened fire in the middle of a concert, which was being held outdoors. At least 59 have been killed, and over 500 have been severely injured and are hospitalized. The suspect, Stephen Paddock, 64, was staying at a nearby hotel, and opened fire from the 32nd floor of the building. Shots were fired for 15 minutes straight. This massacre has become the largest mass shooting in modern U.S. history. Stephen Paddock was found dead in his room, the cause presumably being suicide. In his house and room, investigators found numerous weapons and explosives. So far, authorities believe such weapons were bought legally, and are looking for a motive. Authorities believed he acted alone, and was not a part of any terrorist group. His family is at a loss for words as to why he committed such a terrible act.

It disturbs me to see how many terrible events take place everyday. This one shakes me to my core. An innocent gathering that instantly changed people’s lives forever. My heart is aching for the families and friends of the victims of this tragedy. It’s also heartbreaking not knowing why this happened, or having any closure. It’s also very scary to think about. Public events can be so unsafe and unpredictable. I hope this only makes us stronger and more united as a loving public, and that those affected are respected.

  1. I read the article about this and it's so horrible to hear, even the video that was filmed during the shooting is so disturbing to watch.

  2. It's so odd that someone with a clean record can commit such a crime. I also don't understand how he got so many guns in his possession, so hopefully this tragic event creates some changes in laws.

  3. It is so terrible that this could happen and he had no mental issues or any previous records of crime. I also heard that the man's wife apparently never knew he was capable of doing something like this.
