Las Vegas Shooting Leads to talks about Gun Control

In the wake of the largest mass shooting ever, many are speaking out on the importance of gun control. Chris Murphy, the Senator for Sandy Hook (where another mass shooting took place), says that, "It is positively infuriating that my colleagues in Congress are so afraid of the gun industry that they pretend there aren't public policy responses to this epidemic. There are, and the thoughts and prayers of politicians are cruelly hollow if they are paired with continued legislative indifference. It's time for Congress to get off its ass and do something." Later, he tweets, "...None of this ends unless we do something to stop it." Lots of other political figures such as Hillary Clinton, Oregon Sen. Jeff Merkley, and Pennsylvania Sen. Non Casey Jr. have said very similar things, agreeing that gun control is a very pressing matter. Most of these people have been shut down by the opposition with, "How can you play politics at a time like this?" I disagree. After so many horrible shootings, how can you NOT play politics at a time like this?
