How Trump Turned Against Gun Control
Donald Trump’s views on gun control
have changed over the years, in his 2000 book he wrote that he wanted more gun
control, but after campaigning as a Republican president, he figured out that
he needed to approve of guns. He has
gone so far as to say things such as mass shootings would be better if victims
were returning the fire. The NRA, the
National Rifle Association, endorsed Trump during his run for the presidency,
and has continued to support now President Trump as long as he continues to
support gun owners in the United States.
The president’s continued slander of Hilary Clinton includes that she
would be taking away citizens guns, but after the horrific shooting in Las
Vegas, people are questioning what stance he will take.
The article was written by Anthony
Zurcher for BBC News, and was written on October 2, 2017. A North American reporter wrote the article,
even though it is a British company. The
article was written just a few minutes before I found it, so the information is
up to date. The article was written for
all Americans, but gun holding Americans would be the most affected by the
outcomes of the article; which is if President Trump will tighten gun control after
the events of Las Vegas or laws will stay the same. The article is trying to convey that Trump
has ties with the NRA, but in the past has supported bans on assault
rifles. The author seems a little biased
against Trump, and doesn’t put Trump in a very good light. The article is important to every American
because guns can change lives, especially after the Las Vegas attack, almost
600 lives have been affected by a gun.
The Jason Aldean concert attack can be compared to the Orlando nightclub
shooting of 2016, the shooter targeted a certain type of person, Republicans
are associated with country music, and attacked, leaving devastation behind.
