Earlier today one more US soldiers life was taken in service to his country. A strike killed him and injured another whilst taking out one vehicle. This is an example of the more and more rare cases of violent outbursts in the war zone. It is reported that we are making rather major headway in the fight against ISIS, launching around 40 air strikes this weekend, resulting in the terrorists giving up even more territory. This could lead to a victory that has been a long time coming for these Americans.
This is a story that affects us. It shows that one life can be used in service to help millions of others, however at the same time there are many miscomings and worries to come to terms with here. It is still a war zone out there, and any rash decisions could lead to later Failure. With the o looming threat of North Korea getting bigger each day my only hope is that the two conflicts do not overlap. America needs time to rest before we defend what we hold dear yet again. I’m just wondering when that next period of rest is going to be.

ReplyDeleteI'm glad to see progress against the once 'over-looming' threat of ISIS, as the terrorist organization has been pushed out of most major strategic focal points in Iraq. It allows the American people to focus more on different situations that endanger the American way, such as the growing tensions between the West and North Korea.
ReplyDeleteI do wonder how much of this progress has been hyped up by an optimistic military; during the beginning of the Vietnam war generals and politicians alike predicted the conflict to take months at most and end with a clean sweep by the US but things didn't exactly turn out as planned. Would be nice if ISIS became a threat of the past though
