Students charged for Bulying? - Tea Devereaux

Although this incident had occurred a couple weeks ago, I find it important that there are some African Americans around the world who are still being mistreated. This is a prime example of the continuation of Jim Crow in our society today: the verdict for the case of Donald Williams Jr. an African American student of SJS who was repeatedly bullied by three white male students came out not as a hate crime, but merely a prank "gone too far".

 These three white male students refereed to Williams as a "fraction" or  "three- fifths" - as in, not a full person. They tied a bike lock around his neck, with confederate flag hanging around the scene. In my opinion. This is hate crime. It should be treated as a hate crime. And they should receive the punishment of a hate crime. It is very sad on how much racism their is within our system and everyday lives is just as alive and well as its ever been.
