summary- a federal judge canceled a hearing Tuesday in the legal battle to force apple to break into encrypted iPhone used by one of the San Bernadine attackers after federal officials said in court filing they may have found another way to access the device.
Analysis- In my opinion, Apple is doing the right thing here in not making an script to break into the attackers phone. Apple has a great reputation on its security and I don't think they want to ruin it by doing this sort of thing. And other questions pop up such as, what if there is no needed information on the phone? Is this all a waste of time? I think the FBI is wasting their time and shouldn't be so active about this problem.

I can understand both sides, federal officials want to learn as much as they can about the terrorists but Apple doesn't want to create the technology to bypass any passcode on any iPhone in the world. If there was an easier way to solve the conflict I would probably opt for that but seeing as they haven't thought of one, there might not be one.

Matthew Homsher 9th- The FBI found a way into the phone without going against Apple's wishes, and that's better than forcing them to do something that would result in a security risk in the future.
ReplyDeleteI know that it may have important information on the phone but usually there usually isn't anything important on the phone to begin with.
