No More Exotic Acts For Dallas- Max Gaddis 9th period

http://cityhallblog.dallasnews.com/2016/02/billionaire-ray-hunt-asks-council-to-stop-sex-expo-from-coming-to-dallas-convention-center.html/

Exxxotica, a sex convention, met last year in Dallas, but citizens, and billionaire Ray Hunt, do not look forward to it meeting again in 2016. Ray Hunt and his wife Nancy Ann Hunt, along with various citizens of Dallas, think that the convention should not be held on city owned property such as the Kay Bailey Hutchinson Convention Center. He further explains that it does not interest the people of Dallas to see porn stars peddling their wares in a public space so nearby to parks and family oriented places. Even the Mayor, Mike Rawlings, objected to the expo coming to Dallas because he stated it backed the exploitation of women. The only reason it happened last year was because they already had a contract with the center and when a city in New Jersey kicked Exxxotica out, they were sued. Ray Hunt mentions the safety concerns of sex trafficking in his open letter to Dallas Citizens which you can read here.

I think that nothing of this sort should be taking place in Dallas. The heads of this expo are very stupid to even try anything like this in the heart of the Bible Belt. Even people without religion that live here are bound to question the morality and legitimacy of this convention. Historically, the south has always been very religious, holding on to the only thing they had left after the Civil War.

  1. If it was a private function, then people can do whatever, but exposing children on government property to this illicit behavior and material is just messed up and unnecessary. Go inside, guys.

  2. Kenley Turner 3rd- I believe that people have the right to assemble, and this isn't really hurting other people, so its fine. But possibly in a more remote area, or at a later time in the day to protect the children
