New York police officer found guilty of manslaughter in shooting - Gunnar Ozuna Period 6

Officer Peter Liang shot and killed an unarmed man in a New York housing project stairwell back in 2014. He has been found guilty of manslaughter and misconduct as of last Thursday. The rookie cop was then fired. This trial gained attention because there is controversy that officers are too quick to use lethal force. Especially against unarmed civilians. Unsurprisingly, this victim was an unarmed African American civilian.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             Figures of authority using lethal force against civilians is nothing new. We've seen it with Michael Brown, Trayvon Martin, and Walter Scott. All unarmed African American civilians. You can even trace it back to the beginning of the American Revolution, the Boston Massacre. This involved the shooting of 5 American civilians, though they were not unarmed.                                                                                                                                                                                                                               http://wavenewspapers.com/new-york-police-officer-found-guilty-of-manslaughter-in-shooting/

  4. The amount of police related deaths/injuries without a real reason are beyond ridiculous. There needs to be better protocol when it comes to weapons.
