5 Americans Muslims
The article I read from CNN is about 5 American Muslims and their experiences with discrimination in America. They all express how difficult it is to practice their faith in a country that fears them. The interviewees include a Muslim medical student at a Christian school named Madiha Khan and a family that resides in Worland, Wyoming and is the only Muslim family in their town. All their challenges are displayed throughout the article, all of them having to do with fear of practicing their faith.
With recent terrorists attacks, like Paris and San Bernardino, it's easy to assume the all Muslims are dangerous to Americans. You could even go as far back 9/11, which is now American history. All these occurrences would make it seem like Americans shouldn't be accepting of Muslims, however that is an incorrect, ignorant assumption. We must remember that stereotyping people is how to got to our racial issues between whites and blacks. People of all colors have done horrible things, but we can't stereotype all Muslims as dangerous terrorists because of that. We must let them grow, prosper and practice their faith as Muslim in America because we would want the same thing if being welcomed into their country, correct? We must remember that we are all human and deserve to be treated that way.
