Florida Does it Again- Emily Eppig 8th

          A 99 year old Florida native (of course) woke up from her slumber by a rare jungle cat on top of her. It was a kinkajou from central or south America. The animal must have been domesticated as it wouldn't be quite so docile in the wild. No one is sure where exactly the animal escaped from or how it even ended up in Florida. The honey-badger looking cat is cruelty in the hands of experts, being taken care of correctly. 
          I find this case very interesting. Not only was the creature friendly towards the woman, she was said to have been taking care of it when animal rescue arrived. This unusual bond might aid in discovering who had previously owns this animal. I also enjoy the name given to the cat, Banana. 
          The woman's reaction to seeing the strange animal is how i imagine the Native Americans reacted to seeing horses, dogs, and cats for the first time after Europeans brought them over.

    I wonder what other species we haven't yet discovered yet.

    It is very interesting that we are still discovering new species in new parts of the world everyday. This is a very strange story.

    Large cats like ocelots can be domesticated and kept as pets, although they're rare and very expensive so I don't imagine someone would just accidentally lose track of their wild, rare, $10,000+ house pet.
