Madison Ceurter 5th period: 5 things to know about Roger Rodas, who died with Paul Walker
As I was scrolling through CNN I saw all of the articles about Paul Walker and none about the guy who was actually driving the car that crashed. This guys name was Roger Rodas and he was 38 and had a wife and two kids. Roger Rodas and Paul Walker were friends and did many things together. They met a race club where they soon started to race each other. Then Paul became Roger's client at Bank of America because Roger was the managing director of wealth management. Roger had two charities, one with Paul and one by himself. The one by himself was a charity in El Salvador to help raise money for the orphans that lived there. Reach Out Worldwide was the charity that he had with Paul, this helped with national disasters. They were actually at this charity event before the car crash that was nearby. It is very sad for their families and co workers and anyone that new these two great people.

It is very sad that these two men died. Although it is unfortunate that no one talks of Roger Rodas, I just see that it is more of a shock that Paul Walker died. As bad as that may sound, that's what's wrong with the world, we revere the celebrities more than any other person. And the public openly grieves Paul Walker because they feel tbat they had a connection with him, growing up watching him on tv.- NIa Edwards 4th
ReplyDeleteI find it really sad that because of Paul Walkers fame, Roger Rodas is never really mentioned. I think that the biggest thing to take away from this, is that we need to recognize that it was 2 lives that were lost. Not just an actor and the driver of the car. It was two people with families and friends who will miss them terribly.
